What personal data do we collect?
First2Act requires personal information in 2 ways; the sign-up process and the demographics questionnaire. In the sign-up process, we require your email. If sign-up is requested by your institution, you may be asked to provide your full name, institutional ID, your course or training code and campus work location.
The second form of data collection is through the demographic questionnaire. We collect gender, age, institution of study, language spoken and country.
How do we collect this information?
When you sign up to use the program through the registration form. When you complete the demographics questionnaire.
How will we use your data?
We use this information internally to understand what aspects of our learners impact their learning. This information is used to improve the program.
We also perform research with external institutions in two ways. One; the institution has subscribed to the service and are able to request only the data related to their institutional members.
The other is when we work with our partner institutions, namely universities. In these cases, we share only anonymised data and only when the required ethical clearance for research has been met. All data we share in this way is anonymised and does not include any identifying information such as names and emails. Research is mostly typically in the field of education, simulation and patient outcomes.

Be informed – we collect email, age, gender, place of work or university, and if requested by the members institution, your name, and work ID.
Access – have access to the data collected by requesting it via the contact form on the website.
Rectification – be able to request changes to data via the contact form on the website.
Erasure – be able to request data removal via the contact form on the website.
Restrict processing – be able to request that data is restricted from processing via the profile portal on the site.
Data portability – be able to request a CSV file of the data collected about you via the contact form on the website.
Object – be able to object to any information that is inaccurate, and have it removed and updated, and the necessary institutional body notified via the contact form on the website.
Automated decision-making and profiling – understand that the program utilises only institutional requested data to select the appropriate course structure. No other personal information is utilised for profiling or decision making.
How do we keep your information secure?
Data is stored in the database in a way that minimises the connections between personal information and the other data we use to run the site. The database is protected by utilising best practice in database security, with a dual layer of protection, from WP Engine and Sucuri.
Is your information shared with third parties?
We never share our data with third parties, except when an institution has subscribed to the service and requests data on its members, or if our partner research institution runs research with us. In those cases, all research ethics must be cleared and all data is de-identified (anonymised).
